I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Materials Experience Lab and affiliated with the Emerging Materials Lab at the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands.
In my research, I apply a Material Driven Design approach to unveil the potential of Animated Textiles for novel experiential and performative possibilities.
I combine knowledge in interaction design, smart materials, digital fabrication, and textile design to explore how textile interfaces elicit certain actions from people, and ultimately how this leads to novel ways of living and doing.
Research & development addict
I am interested in all the process that comes before manufacturing a product. My past design experience has taught me that many and many iterations stand behind good products: I love following the design process from reseraching, sketching phase to prototyping.
I believe that “trial and error” is the best method to test if an idea really works and to develop it further: just do it, make a quick prototype, analyse the results and go on.
Emerging technologies geek
I have an inclination for the fields of technologies that are still in development. I think that, as designers, we should make the most of the latest technologies and emerging materials to create innovative products.
Full-time learner
My passion for design does not stop within the walls of my university. When a new topic catches my attention, I always try to get to know more so that I never stop developing my skills and knowledge. You can never stop learning.
“One challenge at a time.”
